It’s that time of year when I put together the menu of delicious ice cream and sorbet treats I’ll be offering to my customers during the year ahead. It’s fascinating looking back over the previous year to see which ice cream and sorbet flavours vanished from the freezer at high speed and which were a little less popular.
The classics proved to be as popular as ever, last year when I offered my customers the chance to choose their flavours I included Madagascan Vanilla, Summertime Strawberry and Smooth Chocolate within that choice, but frequently people opted to drop one or more of these in favour of one of the more unusual flavours. This often meant I had to tell Great Aunt Maud and Uncle frank that the Bride and Groom had opted not to choose Vanilla, so to avoid that happening this year those flavours will be on board at every booking and you get to choose 8 more mouth watering flavours.

This year my fabulous supplier Taywell Ice Creams have come up with some exceptional flavours for me to offer including a Sorbet just for Daisy Vintage ice cream van. Taywell Ice Creams have won 14 Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards and are recognised within the food industry as one of the top producers of quality real handmade ice cream and sorbets. I truly enjoy having them as a supplier, not only do all my customers rave about the fabulous ice cream and sorbets but they are innovative and creative, and take a genuine interest in their customers. They are not a huge multinational but a small producer who strives to use quality fresh ingredients and create exceptional products.
This year, naturally, Raspberry Ripple, Rum & Raisin and Mint Choc Chip, are on the menu, I’ve already mentioned the classic ice cream Madagascan Vanilla, Strawberry and Smooth Chocolate, but how about Honeycomb, Banoffee, Baileys, Coconut, Coffee, Caramel Fudge, Lemon Curd, Cinnamon and Pecan & Maple Syrup for starters. Sorbet options will include Lemon, Blood Orange, Lime, Raspberry, Pink Champagne and Pimms plus exclusively to Daisy a Bucks Fizz Sorbet, which is rather exciting, I know it’s going to prove to be very popular.

Taywell Ice Creams have created a whole range of Asian ice cream and sorbet which we are happy to serve if requested, the flavours include, Black Sesame, Dulce de Leche, Japanese (Matcha) Green Tea, Lemongrass & Chilli, Kaffir Lime Leaf, Sweet Chestnut, Thai Tea Sorbet. not only that they are also creating a range of Mexican and Spanish flavours that include Mezcal and Marguarita.
